2025 results: 373 TWh of nuclear generation, the highest in six years
Published on 20 February 2026, EDF's annual accounts report 515 TWh generated and a record for pumped-storage hydroelectricity.
On 20 February 2026, EDF published its 2025 annual results. Group generation reached 515 TWh, including 373 TWh of nuclear generation in France, the highest level in six years.
Revenue stood at €113.3 billion, EBITDA at €29.3 billion and net income Group share at €8.4 billion. Operating cash flow reached €9.6 billion, allowing a reduction in net financial debt.
Net financial debt stood at €51.5 billion, i.e. 1.8 times EBITDA. The rating agency S&P upgraded EDF's rating to BBB+ with a stable outlook in January 2026.
The year was also marked by record output from pumped-storage hydroelectric plants, the hydraulic installations that store electricity by pumping water back up to an upper reservoir so that it can be turbined at times of peak demand.
This performance by pumped storage illustrates a shift in the system: with abundant solar generation in the middle of the day, the value of intra-day storage mechanically increases.
