Carbon reporting: France shares data from 4,500 companies internationally

On 21 April 2026, ADEME and the Climate Data Steering Committee announced a partnership integrating the climate data of more than 4,500 French companies into the Climate Data Utility.
For the first time, data from a mandatory national climate reporting scheme will be integrated into this international public platform, dedicated to standardising and making available data essential to the climate transition.
The Climate Data Utility was created in 2022 on the recommendation of the Climate Data Steering Committee, a body founded by the President of the Republic Emmanuel Macron and Michael Bloomberg, the United Nations special envoy for climate ambition and solutions.
With technical support from ADEME, the platform will integrate the greenhouse gas emissions data and climate targets published by these companies on the bilans-ges.ademe.fr platform.
Comparability is the central issue: without a common framework for measurement and disclosure, companies' climate commitments remain difficult to assess and to compare across sectors and countries.
