On 28 July 2026, the French Energy Regulatory Commission launched a consultation of market participants on the exceptional arrangements for clearing Teréga's charges and revenues regularisation account, known as the CRCP.
The CRCP is a central mechanism of French tariff regulation. It makes it possible to neutralise, for an infrastructure operator, the differences between the charges and revenues forecast when the tariff was set and those actually recorded.
These differences may arise from factors largely beyond the operator's control: changes in the volumes carried, compression energy costs, or shifts in the investment timetable.
The balance of the account is then returned or recovered through the tariffs of subsequent periods, which smooths the impact on grid users while preserving the operator's economic balance.
Where this balance reaches an unusual level, spreading the clearing avoids an abrupt tariff shock for shippers and, ultimately, for industrial consumers connected to the gas transmission grid.
