Logistics: France Logistique and ADEME renew their partnership

Announced on 11 June 2026, the agreement covers the ecological transition of a sector that underpins the economy.

On 11 June 2026, France Logistique and ADEME announced the renewal of their partnership aimed at accelerating the ecological transition of the logistics sector.

Logistics occupies a cross-cutting position in the economy: it links production, distribution and consumption, and as such concentrates a variety of energy issues β€” road transport, warehouses, the cold chain and materials handling.

The sector's decarbonisation levers are numerous: electrification of vehicles and handling equipment, optimisation of load factors and delivery rounds, modal shift to rail and inland waterways, and energy efficiency of logistics buildings.

Warehouses are an interesting case for the power system: their large roofs lend themselves to photovoltaics, while the cold chain and fleet charging offer potential for consumption flexibility.

This potential echoes the findings of the flexibility barometer: monetising it requires linking the technical management of equipment to the power system's price signals.
