Electricity storage: an application window open in French Guiana until 15 June 2027

Announced on 25 June 2026, this window covers a maximum volume of 30 MW of batteries, with a two-hour usable duration.

On 25 June 2026, the French Energy Regulatory Commission announced the launch of an application window for electricity storage projects located in French Guiana, closing on 15 June 2027.

Storage is an important lever for the energy transition in non-interconnected zones, in the overseas territories as in Corsica. These areas do not benefit from the pooling offered by the mainland grid and must balance their systems locally.

Storage projects there support the development of intermittent renewable energy and enable its integration into the grid at lower cost to national solidarity.

The maximum volume of electrochemical batteries that may be selected for this window is set at 30 MW, with a two-hour usable duration. Project developers must submit their applications before 15 June 2027.

To prepare future windows, the CRE will launch a new survey of pumped-storage hydroelectricity projects by the start of 2027, and will announce the organisation of the next window in Mayotte in the first half of 2027.
