EPR2: €100 million for a heat exchanger plant in Chalon-sur-Saône
Announced on 26 April 2026, the investment covers 20,000 m² and around 160 recruitments by 2030.
On 26 April 2026, EDF announced an investment of close to €100 million for the construction, by its subsidiary Arabelle Solutions, of a new plant of around 20,000 m² in Chalon-sur-Saône.
The announcement was made during a visit by the minister for energy, Maud Bregeon, and the minister for industry, Sébastien Martin.
The plant will be dedicated to producing heat exchangers for the programme to build six EPR2 reactors, for the eight additional reactors being considered in France and for new-build programmes internationally.
It will produce moisture separator reheaters as well as high- and low-pressure feedwater heaters: key equipment that optimises heat exchange in the turbine section of a power plant, where electricity is generated.
The investment will be accompanied by around 160 local recruitments by 2030, with first manufacturing planned from 2030. The production capacity will make it possible to supply all of this equipment for one power plant each year.
