Innov'Eau: 29 winners for water resource management

On 23 January 2026, the Government announced the 29 winners of the third and fourth waves of the "Innov'Eau" call for projects, under France 2030.
The scheme supports innovation in water resource management, an issue that has become structural as droughts grow more frequent and more intense.
The projects cover a variety of fields: reducing leaks in distribution networks, reusing treated wastewater, resource efficiency in industrial processes, and measurement and control tools.
The link with the energy system is more direct than it may appear. Electricity generation depends on water, for hydroelectricity as well as for cooling thermal and nuclear power plants — a point that heatwave episodes make more sensitive every year.
Conversely, the water cycle is electro-intensive: pumping, treatment and distribution represent significant consumption, part of which can be shifted in time without degrading the service delivered.
